Here’s a question to ponder: what are the good habits that support your success? And in 2013 what is one habit you would like to add?
Yesterday I asked this question of a lawyer I coach and she shared with me a number of new habits she has developed this year to improve her productivity at work, and to support her in making time for her top priorities. Here are a few of the habits that she has established in her practice:
1. She, like a number of other lawyers I coach, has started to use Evernote for checklists and notes. She finds it simple to use, and the synching function between all her computers and digital media means she can access her notes any time and anywhere.
2. She has now established the habit of maintaining a list of her priority tasks for the current day and next day.
3. She gets all her deadlines into her calendar.
Her new habit for 2013 will be an increased focus on blocking out time for email and avoiding the mind-numbing shuffle between email and project work.
My new habit for 2013 will be getting up earlier so that I have time to write each morning.
What new positive habit do you want to acquire in 2013?
